Our story
2013
Where it all started. vxie's first chapter began as 'Sophie Elise' opening its doors on October 21st 2013.
2014
The salon achieved its first 2 awards: 4th place in the Leicester Mercury's - Leicestershire's 'Salon of the year'. and a highly commended award for Best Shop Front in the Melton Business Awards 2014. Sophie also gained a highly commended award for 'Young Entrepreneur' in the Melton Business Awards 2014.
2015
The salon gained 2 further highly commended awards in the Melton Business Awards 2015 for 'Customer Care' and 'Best New Business'. The salon also became an ELEMIS partner and official stockist, offering a wide selection of Elemis facials, massage and body treatments.
2016
On the 23rd of April, the Day Spa was opened. Conveniently located above the existing salon over an additional 2 floors. The Day Spa offers clients an escape from busy lifestyles and is an alternative option for 'Spa Go Getters' to enjoy a more private setting that you might find in a larger Spa.
The business also gained its 6th Finalist Award for Green Achievement (An Eco-Friendly award) at the Melton Business Awards.
2017
The team at Sophie Elise secured finalist status at The English Hair & Beauty Awards for 'Customer Care', along with Sophie herself, receiving a finalist title for 'Masseuse of the Year'.
2018
The Melton Achievement Awards saw the team win a 'Customer Focus' award followed by a national award from the British Hair & Beauty Awards taking Gold for 'Customer Care' and Bronze for 'Day Spa of the Year' 2018.
The team also got the chance to be part the Muddy Stiletto Awards and was honoured with a finalist status of 'Best Day Spa' in the Leicestershire & Rutland area.
2020
Twenty twenty wasn't the year any of us expected. However after a lengthy closure due to the coronavirus, the team did manage to enjoy the time we have been able to spend in salon during the odd summer months and over December just in time for Christmas.
2021
April 12th 2021, the third lock down officially ended! We welcomed our first ever Salon Manager (Becky) to the team who is still part of the furniture today.
The business also gained 2 additional awards from The British Hair & Beauty Awards 2021 for 'Best Day Spa' and 'Salon of the Year' in the East Midlands region. To finish off the year another award for 'Best Day Spa' in Leicestershire and Rutland was awarded from the Muddy Stiletto Awards 2021 - the awards had a whopping 750,000 nominations for over 75,000 business's across the country, which was a huge achievement for the team.
2022:
With nearly a decade of treatments, we attended the Melton Business Awards for another awards evening, winning both 'Customer Focus' and 'Best Team'.
2023:
In 2023 we celebrated 10 years in business. Cake was shared, glasses were cheered and we enjoyed a year of celebrating with our clients old and new.
2024:
Another year and excitingly another award as we gained 'Best Day Spa' for the UK in the 10th British Hair and beauty awards 2024.
2025:
2025 saw a huge change for the salon and day spa with a re-brand from our original trading name as 'Sophie Elise' to 'VXIE'. The new name pays homage to our foxy mascot whilst colliding sisterhood, women hood, tenacity, femininity and strength with a new sister salon opening just next door in the form of 'vxie hair' a brand new hair salon to Melton Mowbray ran by Lucy, Sophie sister!
